Thirty-odd people turned up for a Race Night at the clubhouse on 25th March, including a half dozen visiting from Dunheved club.
They betted enthusiastically on eight races of eights horses each, with half the takings going to the club and the other half going to the punters backing the winning horses. David Atfield made the early running with successive winners in the first three races, though he tailed off a bit and only backed one more thereafter.
Wildanet, a Cornwall-based broadband provider, sponsored the evening, and were present to talk to people about their full-fibre broadband service which is rolling out in Wadebridge.
A bread and cheese supper was available at half-time, and the bar was open throughout, which no doubt contributed to the conviviality and general loudness of the evening. Though primarily intended as a social evening, the event made £87.
