Wadebridge A had a good 4-1 home win over Bude A on 15th June, 73 shots to 51.
On rink 3, Roger Priestley, Paul Evans, Trevor Little and Richard Jones scored a 7 on the third end and never looked back on their way to a 26-17 win. On rink 2, Peter Morrish, John Gibbs, Kevin Jones and George Tinker fell 2-16 behind after ten ends, but staged a comeback to 15-16 by the fourteenth. Sadly, they dropped a six and eventually lost 19-24.
On rink 1, Derek Swaby, Kevin Smith, Chris Adrian and Harry Tinker led nicely by 8-1 after five ends, then scored an 8 for a HOT SHOT! They held firm for a convincing 26-12 win.
Wadebridge B had tense finish against Bude B on 19th June. Helped by a 5 on the sixth end, Terry Darby, Peter Chapman, Dave Shaw and Kevin Smith established an early lead and sustained their form through to a 23-5 win. Peter Keat, Neville Bond, Graham Browning and Trevor Little went down 14-25. Terry Frost, Stuart Holt, John Witcomb and Mark Tapley were neck and neck throughout, 12-13 down after 17 ends, for a match position of 49-43 to Wadebridge. They were last to finish, needing 2 for a win on the rink, and to avoid dropping a 7 to lose the match. There was a 2 on the last end, but sadly for Wadebridge, it was scored by Bude, giving a result of 12-15. Still, a 3-2 points win was a good result against a team that had won the reverse fixture at Bude 5-0.
