Sunday 12 June dawned bright dry and warm as the club prepared for the rearranged Junior Taster Day.

Bunting, barbecue, biscuits - along with a tempting selection of brightly coloured junior bowls - were all at the ready as club members geared themselves up for a fun-filled day. With young club celebrities - and County players - George and Harry in attendance this was an opportunity not to be missed.

Kick-off time was 10.00 and it wasn’t long before we welcomed some keen youngsters (and a few not so young) who wanted to begin unravelling the mysteries of bowls. There were targets to aim at, jacks to hit and scores to beat, not forgetting beef burgers and hot dogs to fuel the body. A very big thank you to Sam Tinker who slaved away all day to feed the hungry crowd, along with others who provided hot and cold refreshments.

We had 35 young people come along, have a go and hopefully leave thinking "that was fun, I’ll come again”. Junior training sessions will be running on Thursdays at the club throughout the summer with timings listed on our Juniors page.

So, what’s stopping you? You could be Wadebridge and Cornwall’s next George and Harry!
