Catching up on a couple of weeks without a report, Wadebridge Men had a miserable time, playing away at a cold, windy Bude. The B team lost 5-0 (10-14, 16-21 and 8-29) whilst the A team went down 1.5-3.5 in a close match: 19-17, 13-18, 19-19, for an overall score of 51-54.

The B team, unusually, played again the next day at home to Dunheved and won 5-0 (26-9, 24-16, 22-11).

The following week, the Bs kicked off with a convincing 5-0 win at home to Camelford (28-7, 16-14, 18-12). The As also won against Camelford, 4-1, but this was an altogether tighter affair. The rink scores were 20-11, 6-21 and 21-12, making a match win by three shots, 47-44.

The B team opened this week with a 5-0 at Stratton (17-10, 21-17, 33-16). The A team followed up with a 3-2 win also at Stratton, thanks mainly to a great 31-9 by Harry Tinker's rink (Roger Priestley, Alan Carruthers, John Gibbs and Harry).

A v Stratton 2023

The Men's league tables as at 27th May showed both A and B teams leading their respective Divisions and this week's results will have done no harm to those standings. However, Kensey Value ominously had a game in hand in both. The B team already have more points than they amassed in the whole of last year. The tables can be found here.
