A Sudden Thought
As a spur of the moment idea, our esteemed bar steward Kevin Jones has suggested we hold an ad-hoc roll up and beer this Saturday, 4th May (there always seems to be beer in Kevin’s ideas) with a little friendly competition.

Now known as The K.J. Challenge, the suggestion is participants pay £1 each and we hold a little competition with the entry money going to the winners. This could be singles, pairs, triples or rinks depending on numbers entering with teams and opponents drawn on the night. The final format is still to be decided but hopefully you get the idea. This is bowls on the edge!
This is just for a bit of fun and practice and is open to all to join in.
If interested please just turn up and register by 5 p.m. and we will aim to start around 5.15. No need to notify in advance. We expect it to be a short competition, with some food, maybe burgers, available afterwards. There’s no telling how long the bar will be open…
Please note there is a sub-committee meeting in the club at 4pm and so please don’t arrive before 4.45 to avoid interrupting this.
Club Night Plus
Next week’s club night will be on Friday 10th May, owing to a B Team league match at home on Tuesday. We are taking the opportunity to make it a bit more of a social evening to welcome our new members and give them a chance to meet and get to know everyone.
The plan is to have a shortened roll up followed by a gathering in the club where we can meet over a drink or two. Harry has offered to do burgers and may be we can rustle up a bit of cake. For the more hardy of you, we expect Kevin J will be more than happy to mix a cocktail or two!
We hope as many of you as possible will be able to come and make it an enjoyable evening. Non-members are welcome so feel free to bring your partner or a friend.
