After a painful loss 1-4 at home to Stratton and a win 4-1 away at Bodmin, the A Team played Kensey Vale at home on 8th May, needing a good win to stop Stratton rushing too far ahead in the league.
Thankfully, they got it: a 4-1 victory. They won 2 rinks to one and squeaked a one shot margin in the match score, 46-45.
Rinks as follows (Wadebridge Skip first):
- G Tinker 16 P Prynne 11
- H Tinker 10 N Trewin 24
- R Jones 20 P Gilbert 10
You can see the league table as it now stands here.
The A Team now plays in Group 2 County League North, rather than Division 1. Only Group 2 now plays fours for the B Teams, the other Groups playing triples, so there is no county-recognised Division 2. The B Team’s league is now called the Group 2 League.
This change came about because most other clubs are struggling to put out a B Team, so Wadebridge is bucking the trend here, with the selectors having a hard time choosing who to pick from the many available candidates. A nice-to-have problem.
