Wadebridge Ladies scored a nail-biting win over Kensey Vale by one shot in Monday's match.
A sunny afternoon greeted us (Barbara Bell, Mae Bargate, Kirsty Jones and skip Pat Archer) this afternoon at Kensey Vale along with a warm welcome from their Rippon team. Our start was slow and Kensey pulled away from us, helped with four points in the 9th end.
The turning point came in the 10th end with us winning 3 points. Suddenly we were closing the gap with some good woods which took the score to 12 all. We took the lead.
Our last end was very tense as we had to stop them getting 3 points to draw or four to win. Barbara bowled two woods which were touchers- a good start. But Kensey Vale knocked the jack back to give them 2 points but we managed to prevent them getting any more points so we won by one.
A good and hard fought win. A great team effort - a close and enjoyable match.
