Wadebridge BC held a barbecue evening on Saturday 27th June, welcoming new members into the fold of the club.
After organising the BBQ food, including homemade side dishes, the crew served over 60 people in the clubhouse. The bar was very busy with the usual drinks plus very flavoursome cocktails – so busy that the glasses ran out and bar steward Kevin had to take a trip into the loft for more. Unprecedented!
The sun stayed out, making a glorious evening and allowing folk to sit, chatter and enjoy the night outside alongside the green. A quiz to guess the club member from their baby photos generated much hilarity (thanks Lisa). Two birthdays were celebrated with a resounding Happy Birthday chorus. We were thrilled also that members of Camelford club stayed after their friendly in the afternoon to join in with our fun.
Many donations of tins and food were brought to support the Wadebridge Food Bank, the chosen charity of President Aly Tapley. A lovely summer fundraiser towards roof repairs for the clubhouse, plus green supplies to see us through the winter months.
