Another great weekend for Wadebridge in the Nationals.

On Saturday afternoon, Penny, Avril, Pat and Jane beat Lisa, Lorraine, Kirsty and Aly 22-13 to progress to Sunday at Wadebridge. They played a Bodmin four, and after 12 ends it was 9-9. Bodmin then scored a 1 and a 5 for a 15-9 lead, but Wadebridge hit back with a 5 of their own to be 14-15 down after 15 ends. Bodmin then ran out winners 19-17 — a close result.
In the Men on Saturday, David, Pete, Kevin and Richard were pipped 19-17 on a last end measure, but Dontai, Harry, George and Craig won through to Sunday. In the morning they played a Liskeard four who were last year’s Group champions, and won 20-12. That put them in the afternoon final against a Stratton four which had beaten Bodmin, also 20-12.
Wadebridge trailed 10-17 at the 12th end, but a fightback saw them take the lead 19-17 and then run out as winners and Group champions 21-18 — a sensational win.
