The season has started. Wadebridge Bowling Club held its Opening Day on 13th April and what do you know – there was sunshine!

Wadebridge Mayor, Cllr. Ian Welch, delivered the first bowl – a toucher. We take this as an omen for the season.
24 players played three sets of five ends, changing who played with whom in each set in a random process involving coloured, numbered badges, presided over by Barbara Bell. (‘Exact details well above my pay grade’ according to our undercover reporter.)
Points were gained by how well your (temporary) team played in each set and the overall winner was Elisabeth Hutcherson, daughter of John Gibbs, with 21. ‘Strongest’ player was Kevin Jones with 7. You have to be strong to support everyone else above you in the scoring list.
