Spring has finally made an appearance at Wadebridge Bowling Club.  As the indoor season ends, focus turns to preparing the club for Opening Day on Saturday 11th April.

Following tradition, the town Mayor, Cllr Ian Welch, will formally open the green for the 2026 season, by delivering the first wood.

The green team have sustained the grass throughout the winter so it is in an excellent condition – an extraordinary achievement given the 50 consecutive days of rain in January and February.  The team also replaced some edging boards around the perimeter.

Many other jobs have been tackled over winter, including the installation of a 10,000-litre water tank.  The new guttering around the shed block enables the rainfall to be collected, making this an eco-friendly feature, ensuring the green and flower beds can be economically watered.

We are so lucky to have hard working members and willing volunteers, helping to provide support within the local community.
