President Wendy reports that the total amount raised for the Alzheimer's Society was £300. Most was raised on Charity Day itself, through match fees, raffle, auction and spider, but this was supplemented by the raffle held during the friendly match against Ottery St Mary a few days later. Thanks to the home and visiting players on both days, and to everyone who helped.

Wadebridge Ladies ended their season on an upturn, winning their last Rippon match 26-13 against Dunheved (Velda Smith, Pam Johnson, Mae Bargate, Barbara Swaby). They also won their Tamar match against Dunheved 18-13 (Barbara Bell, Alison Tapley, Pam Johnson, Barbara Swaby). Well done!

Wadebridge had a couple of excellent results in the Group 2 knock out competitions. The A Team won its Croydon Marks match away at Bude on Tuesday, while the C Team beat Kensey Vale away in the Grenville Taylor.

The Millennium Mixed Fours side began the season in fine style on Tuesday 10th May away to Bude, winning by 57 shots to 53.

It was a terrific 'Taster Day' at Wadebridge Bowling Club yesterday (Saturday 23rd April). The club opened its doors at 10am and the qualified coaches and their assistants were kept busy by a steady stream of people wanting to have a go at bowls. The bar was open, doing better business in the afternoon as the sun came out, and tea, coffee and biscuits were also available.

Wadebridge Bowling Club’s Opening Day was held on Saturday 9th April, a week earlier than typically because of Easter this year. We were rewarded for this boldness with a beautiful sunny afternoon.

George Tinker and Harry Tinker have followed up their success last year in reaching the quarter finals of the U-25 national pairs at Leamington with an invitation to the Bowls Cornwall Middleton Cup trials on 1st/8th May. We wish them every success.
