Wadebridge became Group 2 Champions in the Mixed Triples and Men’s Top Team last week.

Mixed Triple 1

The annual Men v Ladies match has long been a fixture in the Wadebridge Bowling Club calendar. Of late, the reduced number of ladies in the club has meant that a number of men have to volunteer to play in the Ladies team, to make a match of it.

It is fair to say that some men take that obligation VERY seriously, and some – er – don’t.

Wadebridge A had a good 4-1 home win over Bude A on 15th June, 73 shots to 51.

Catching up on a couple of weeks without a report, Wadebridge Men had a miserable time, playing away at a cold, windy Bude. The B team lost 5-0 (10-14, 16-21 and 8-29) whilst the A team went down 1.5-3.5 in a close match: 19-17, 13-18, 19-19, for an overall score of 51-54.

Wadebridge Ladies have been having mixed success so far in the leagues this season.

Three teams from Wadebridge were among the 26 from across Group 2 entered in the National triples competition, played over the weekend of 13-14 May.

The Men's A Team continued its winning start to the season with a convincing 5-0 win over Bodmin A at home. I'll let the results card speak for itself.

The Men's A and B teams started their league programme last week with contrasting 4-1 away wins over Dunheved.

There were fears that the rain forecast for Saturday, 21st April 2023 would keep people away from our annual Taster Day – an opportunity for anyone to come along and give bowls a try, free of charge and free of obligation.

Wadebridge Bowling Club officially opened the new season on Saturday, 15th April. At least 25 members turned out, many wearing the new club shirts – same colours but more dynamic styling.
